General Information

The Speechcraft program allows experienced Toastmasters to present the fundamentals of public speaking to non-members. It can be offered as an integral part of your club meeting or as a seminar-style program presented outside the club.A Speechcraft requires the commitment of at least 10-12 Club Members to assist in conducting the program.

Members can earn credit towards a variety of Toastmasters awards:

  • One member can earn credit towards their Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) as the Speechcraft coordinator
  • One member can earn credit towards their Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) by conducting the Evaluation Course
  • Additional members can earn credit towards their Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB), Silver (ACS) or Gold (ACG) by conducting a Better Speaker Series module to Speechcraft students.
  • Members can complete the mentoring requirement in their Competent Leader (CL) manual by coaching a Speechcraft student

The Speechcraft program can be conducted in four, six or eight sessions. Conducting a Speechcraft inside the club setting makes it easier for participants to become members and conducting a Speechcraft outside the club setting can lead to the formation of a new Toastmasters club.

There is a nominal fee for non-members which covers the cost of materials for the workshop as well as an initial membership in Toastmasters.

If you are interested in conducting a Speechcraft program, contact Noel Ganay, DTM (Club Growth Director).
