Road to DTM

General Information

The Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award represents the highest quality of educational achievement in Toastmasters. The following image shows the road to achieving this educational distinction through Pathways.

Pathways Learning Program

Education

Education Project

Club Leadership

District Leadership

Club Extension

Club Support

  • Complete any 1 Learning Path
  • Complete a 2nd, different Learning Path
  • Complete a DTM Project, available after completing Level 2 of 2nd Learning Path

Must serve as a Club Officer for 12 months, either one 12-month term or two 6-month terms

Serve as a District Officer for one 12-month term

Must complete one of the following:

  • Sponsor a club
  • Perform a Speechcraft Program
  • Conduct a Youth Leadership Program

Must complete one of the following:

  • Successfully coach a club
  • Successfully mentor a club

Traditional Program (must be completed by June 30, 2020)

Communication Track

Competent Communicator (CC)

  • Completed the Competent Communicator Manual

Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB)

  • Achieve Competent Communicator (CC) OR Achieve Competent Toastmaster (CTM)
  • Complete two Advanced Communicator Manuals

Advanced Communicator Silver (ACS)

Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG)

Leadership Track

Competent Leader (CL)

  • Completed the Competent Leader Manual

Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB)

Advanced Leader Silver (ALS)

Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM)

  • Achieve Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG) OR Advanced Toastmaster Gold (ATMG)
  • Achieve Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) OR Advanced Leader (AL)
