District Director Patti Anderson

What a crazy time we are living in. Many things have changed, but Toastmasters in District 30 are persevering! When we were told we could no longer meet in person, we dove into virtual meetings! We are learning to master 21st century skills that many of us never expected to even try.

That is what we do as Toastmasters isn’t it? We adapt to every situation and go forward to create success. You can count on that not to change. The Vision for District 30 this year is Where Success Happens. We are dedicated to bringing the members and the clubs whatever training and opportunities they need to reach success.

One way we will do this is to provide opportunities for you to apply the new skills being learned in the Pathways program. An example of this is the NEW Blog section on the website. Did you know that one of the electives in level 4 is to write a blog? Now we have our own Blog page for our members to show off their written communication skills! For more information reach out to CJ Powers at prm@d30toastmasters.org

We will also provide videos to help you on your path of personal growth. These programs will be on subjects that will help you apply your skills to your life and your career. We are also researching interviewing strategies, writing a book, resume writing, mastering Zoom meetings, and much more. Since we’re still developing these ideas, is there a subject you would like to learn from an expert? Watch for a survey from Velynda Fultz, our Program Quality Director, requesting your opinion on subjects you would like to have covered and, your area of expertise should you be willing to present a topic.

Another thing we are dedicated to this year is using the District 30 website as a place for ALL members to be able to find reliable information, up to date links, training, and acknowledging members and clubs for milestone accomplishments.

These are some of the things you can expect to see from your District Leadership this year.

As we enter August, we begin the Fall Contest season with Table Topics and Humorous Speech contests. The Evaluation and International Speech contests will be going into the new year. You can get more information on the District website.

It’s going to be a great year! I look forward to meeting you via Zoom, WebEx, and Google Meet.

Club Growth Director Christine Crow

Welcome to your new Toastmaster year!

This year, District 30 plans to retain all members and clubs and build 16+ new clubs. The pandemic and stay-at-home orders have created obstacles for clubs and business-as-usual. But, if we turn the puzzle in our hands, we can also discover opportunities.

Please join me in welcoming the extended Club Growth team.

Vice President of Membership or club representative are invited to attend monthly VPM/Club Growth calls. The first one will be presented by Don Williams about how to plan year-round recruitment. Register via zoom by clicking here.

All members are encouraged to visit other clubs and support or learn new ideas to share with your own club. Right now, that is easier than having to drive to a new location. Use the FIND A CLUB tool to explore clubs in District 30. This is a great way to network too! Sign up for the D30 Club Ambassador program and challenge others to get out there too!

The following tools/forms have been created to help clubs and members communicate across the district. Are you looking for a new audience? Do you need to give more speeches than your club has speaking slots for? Fill out this form to let other clubs know that you are available and interested

Is your club anticipating a meeting with low attendance? Use this form to let others know that you have room for toastmasters to step in and fill roles.

We need you! District 30 is looking for mentors/coaches/sponsors. We have opportunities to build and grow your leadership skills. If you have other ideas and/or concerns, I am available at cgd@d30toastmasters.org or toastmastercrow@gmail.com.
